What is the M-CSR (Manual CSR)?

The M-CSR (Manual CompuSport Rating) is a rating assigned by an event manager or, in some cases, automatically based on event settings when a player does not have an established CSR. It is used mainly for registration eligibility and division placement in that specific event and, depending on the event configuration, it may also be used to calculate handicaps on scoresheets. When an M-CSR is set, it overrides both the CSR and the F-CSR for that event.

This override mechanism is typically used in special situations, such as when a player does not yet have an established official CSR, or when an adjustment is required to meet event eligibility criteria, such as minimum or maximum division thresholds.

When is M-CSR used?

An M-CSR may be assigned manually by an event manager or automatically by the event settings in situations such as:

  • New players — players who do not yet have enough game history for an established CSR.
  • Special eligibility situations — cases where a player needs an event-specific adjustment.
  • Division threshold adjustments — when the automated rating does not reflect the player's expected placement for that event.

Does M-CSR affect my official CSR?

No. The M-CSR applies only to the relevant event and does not permanently modify the player's official CSR. Your official CSR continues to update normally (see How often is the CSR updated?).

Where can I see if an M-CSR was set for me?

When an M-CSR is active, you will see the "M-CSR" label next to your rating on your player card, match details, and the event wall. A "?" icon next to the label provides a short explanation.

For a full list of where these labels appear, see What are the F-CSR and M-CSR labels I see next to ratings?.
