If you copied last year's league event, (strongly recommend doing so) much of your setup is already in the new event. Use this checklist to update the copied information for the new season before generating a schedule.
How to copy past event for the new year
1. Go to your new event.
2. Reuse your divisions
Go to Menu > Manage > Divisions > Divisions.
If you chose to copy divisions and settings, your divisions are already there.
You do not need to create them again.
Review each division's name and settings, and edit anything that changed for this season.
Create a new division only if you have a genuinely new league/division to add.
If the list of divisions is empty, you most likely forgot to select to copy divisions when you copied the event.
**If you didn't copy your divisions and players over. Contact CompuSport, they can copy them into your new event. This will help not create duplicate players and for your scoresheet settings to follow. (info@compusport.us)
3. Update teams and player rosters
Go to Menu > Manage > Players/Teams > Teams and select a division. If you copied teams into their divisions, use the existing teams:
- Select teams that are not playing in this division this year and choose Remove from Division.
- For each returning team, review its name, default location, and roster. Add or remove players as needed.
- For a team that exists in the event but is not in this division, choose All in the division list, select the team, and use Add to Division.
- Use Add Team with Members for a genuinely new team. Search for existing player records before creating new players.
If you copied players or teams without keeping their division assignments, add them to the appropriate divisions first. For a singles league, review the players under Menu > Manage > Players/Teams > Players instead.
4. Check locations and league settings
Review the locations and playing surfaces, especially if a team changed its home location. Then go to Menu > Manage > Brackets/Round-Robins > Round-Robins. If the round-robins were copied, select each one and confirm that it points to the correct division and has the scoresheet, handicap, and score input settings you want this year.
5. Generate this year's schedule
Once the divisions, teams, default locations, and round-robins are ready, go to Menu > Manage > Schedules/Charts > Surfaces Scheduler and choose Generate schedules. Select this year's round-robins, enter this season's dates and times, and reserve holidays or positioning nights as needed. Review the generated attempt, then accept it when the matchups, dates, and locations are correct.
Tip: If several divisions share locations and play on the same night, generate their schedules together so the scheduler can account for shared locations.
