Using the CSR to Handicap Your League

When handicapping with CSR, some players may not yet have an accurate CSR, because the system only starts calculating CSR once a player has at least 3.5 stars out of 5.

You have two options to handle players without a valid CSR:

Option 1 – Assign Manual CSR Values

You can manually set a CSR for each player using a Custom Value column.

Steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Manage > Players/Teams > Players.

  2. Select the division.

  3. Choose a Custom Value column.

  4. Enter the CSR value you want for each player who does not yet have 3.5 stars or more.

***(Tip: Custom Value columns can be renamed. For example, you might call it “Evaluated CSR.”)

And/Or

Option 2 – Use a Default CSR for the Division

You can also define a Default CSR that applies to all players in the division who do not yet have 3.5 stars.

In the CSR settings, select which Custom Value column should be used for players without enough stars.

  • If a value exists, the system will use that manual CSR.

  • If the field is empty or no Custom Value is selected under Field to use for CSR if not enough stars , the system will fall back to the Default CSR you’ve set.

Recap – How the System Chooses CSR

  1. Does the player have 3.5 stars or more?

    • ✅ Yes → System uses the CSR.

    • ❌ No → System checks the selected Custom Value column.

  2. Is there a Custom Value?

    • ✅ Yes → System uses that manual CSR.

    • ❌ No → System uses the Default CSR for the division.

***Steps to rename Custom Value columns :

  1. Go to Menu > Manage > Event > Event.

  2. Select the event and click the Pencil to edit.

  3. Go to the Custom Value section.

  4. Rename a Custom Value column if you wish (e.g., “Evaluated CSR”).
